LGBT Pride in Queens

Sunday, June 3rd marks Queens Pride, the borough’s largest celebration of LGBT people and their families. Queens Pride features guest stars, a parade, music and all sorts of other fun celebrations. Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage is sure to add some extra flare to this year’s festivities.
This year marks Queens Pride’s 20 year anniversary and they will be celebrating with cast members from Broadways’ Wicked and members of the Queens Center for Gay Seniors. The parade kicks off at 12pm and goes from 37th Avenue and 84th Street to 75th Street Jackson Heights, NY. The pre-parade party is from 6 -9 at studio square in LIC. There will be a brunch from 11 – 4 at Novo Resteraunt and Lounge –the proceeds of which will go to Queens Pride.
This upcoming event in Queens is sure to be fun for all LGBT people and their families. The parade will feature food vendors, notable members of Queens’ LGBT community, and local politicians. The parade floats are as diverse as the LGBT community in Queens is. Few events in Queens are as action packed as this one so don’t miss it! This historic event is also the first Queens Pride since New York legalized gay marriage!
