Fans of fresh, tasty, locally grown vegetables will be happy to find out that the Jackson Heights Greenmarket is newly expanded and open all year round. Come down to Jackson Heights this Sunday from 8 – 3 pm to see the greatest produce New York State has to offer.
The Jackson Heights Greenmarket is more than just at greenmarket, it is one of the best food events NYC has to offer. It is a host to community events like live music, cooking demonstrations, and other family friendly fun. The vegetables and other products are exquisite and you get to meet the farmers behind the foods. Sundays at the greenmarket are a great time to teach your kids about farming, healthy eating, and nature. Even if you don’t need groceries, the market is a fun place to walk around. The stalls of brightly colored produce and the smiling kids are sure to warm your heart on even the coldest winter day.
Sign up Sunday the 8th or the 15th for the winter challenge. The challenge entails going to greenmarket every week and signing in at the info tent. The more you sign in this winter, the more prizes you become eligible for. Hit the info tent this Sunday for specific prize details.
The market goes till 3 pm but if you are serious about getting your hands on the best veggies, show up on the earlier side. Cash, credit, debt, food stamps/EBT, WIC/FMNP checks, are all accepted. Food in Queens has never been fresher.
